It’s almost too good to be true, but you can enjoy up to 150 terrestrial digital TV channels and loads of radio stations for free via the Freeview Digital TV Service. You can have all this with no contract, monthly fee or satellite dish, but you will need a Freeview box or an integrated digital TV which has a built in DVB tuner.
The only drawback is that Freeview only covers 78% of the UK so many areas find themselves unable to pick up the signal or experience poor reception.
